Golden Grove Tennis Club is involved in all levels of Competition

SENIOR COMPETITION

In Summer, we compete in the NETA Competition from October 8, 2005 - April 1, 2006. Nominations close 9 September 2005. Matches are played Saturday afternoons from 1pm till late, offering Men's / Ladies Singles, Men's / Ladies Doubles, Mixed Doubles. The GGTC Management Committee selects the Teams and players will be informed via a Newsletter in late September.

In Winter, we compete in the Winter Pennant Competition from April 1 - September 3, 2005. Nominations close 1 March 2005. The competition is split into North and South of the city and involves more travelling. Players can form their own teams.

LADIES FIND 30 PREMIER LEAGUE TENNIS

Premier League matches start October 15, 2005 - April 1, 2006. Nominations close 12 August, this is the club's third season. There has been a marked improvement over the years and the aim for 2005 / 06 is to compete in the Finals. The club's ultimate goal is to have a Men's team in this competition as well. Many thanks to the Blue Gums Hotel for sponsoring the Pennant team.

MIDWEEK LADIES DOUBLES COMPETITION

This is a Doubles only competition played on Wednesday mornings from 9am - 11.30am. It is played on a home and away basis. Clubs nominate teams which consist of 4 players. Two competitions are run each year, July to December and February to June.

TUESDAY NIGHT SOCIAL TENNIS

This is a Doubles Social competition played under lights on Tuesday evenings from 7pm - 10pm. There are 3 sessions per year, each lasting 10 -12 weeks, Jan - Mar, April - June, Oct - Dec. In conjunction with Tennis SA, a new Lights , Tennis, "be active" program is starting on Oct 11. Players are welcome to come on the night and get a couple of hours of tennis for only $5 / night. Players must be registered with Tennis SA, a separate price which includes a GGTC social membership. The program involves some coaching and other healthy activities. Doubles (mixed or same sex) are played, continually changing courts and partners.

SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP

The Club is formulating a Social Membership Fee which will allow "non competition playing" Financial members greater access to the courts. They are locked when not in use and must be hired through TTG council. Members can use the courts anytime.
